Meet the Board!
Brad is a Senior Associate at Brown Edwards & Co. LLP, working within several different niches of the Firm’s assurance services, including: higher education, not-for-profit, and public companies regulated by the SEC. Prior to joining Brown Edwards, he worked for one of the Top 100 Firms based in Atlanta, Ga. Brad also has experience in the mining and minerals sector as he has previously worked for a publicly traded coal company in various accounting and reporting roles. Brad lives in Roanoke with his wife and son, and their two dogs. When Brad is not working, he enjoys music, travelling, sports and spending as much time outside as possible. Brad graduated from Emory and Henry College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and from King University with a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Brad earned his CPA in August of 2014. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
David is an associate with Brown Edwards & Co. LLP within the firm’s Financial Institutions niche and has been a CPA since June 2019. He is also a member of the Financial Managers Society and earned his Master in Accounting and Information Systems in 2018 from Virginia Tech and his Master of Business Administration from American Military University in 2013. Prior to becoming a CPA, he served 10 years in the United States Air Force as a Combat Systems Officer and deployed four times in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. David lives in Blacksburg and enjoys college athletics of all types, learning to cook, and trivia in his free time.
Mikaela is CPA candidate currently working towards licensure and an Associate at Brown Edwards & Company, a Regional Top 100 CPA firm. She joined Brown Edwards as an intern as she worked towards her Business Administration degree while concentrating in Accounting studies from Roanoke College and later transitioned to a full-time role after graduating. As an Associate, Mikaela works on a variety of clients in different industries in both assurance and tax work, while most of her experience is in not-for-profit entities, specifically higher education, and for profit companies, specifically construction companies. Mikaela lives in Roanoke and enjoys spending time with family and friends in her free time.
Teena is a Senior Accountant at Associated Asphalt, one of the largest independent asphalt resellers in the United States. She previously worked in public accounting for 9 years, with experience in a variety of small business services, attest & non-attest engagements, and tax preparation. She received her CPA designation in 2015. When Teena is not working, she enjoys cooking with her husband, exploring Roanoke, and playing with her two dogs.
